I had thought it was gone, but just noticed on the farewell page, theres a link to it being taken over by some of the users.
Whats strange is i dont recognize the user names, and the join dates are recent, (although u have to wonder if some of them are former jpfers, living a new identity life) usually its the same cast of characters.
We should be trying to get them over here, whoever they are, they seem to be active too. And there arent 2000 anonymous users lurking and not saying thing, (that is still one of the hardest things for me to grasp...who are all these people?) I assume they are people like.... Nigel, Midnite Bob, the people here are probably, anybody from yesterday like Ben, and that clan.
I have been thinking about starting an mp3 based site, something like songramp used to be, but trying to get regular people to the site to listen, and give a rating of the song, simple star system.
Somehow reward those people for listening, free stuff or something.
Its complicated, but i think there is still a market for forums that are not part of social media. Mainly because facebook and twitter are for all people, and mostly about talking about your family, politics, showing pictures of where you are right now eating...those are ALWAYS exciting to see.... its not the place to say hey all, please listen and critique my latest song...
anyway, yeah, how is muses getting people that we arent?
More song activity? Lets take them over......

I just tried posting "You'll Never Be Me" @SoundCloud. In 24hrs it's got 6 listens and no comments... but, I've already received 5 ads for "pay services" that guarantee more listeners lol.
I honestly believe all these "bots n crawlers" are indexing the WWW and biasing search results away from anything resembling "free speech". Especially if you potentially compete with or oppose "Woke MSM".
Think about it, the number of musicians in the world certainly hasn't diminished; But, unless you're on TikTok going on about androgynous gender identity, equitable racism, or climate change... you simply can't be found or heard.
There used to be hundreds of sites like JPFolks, and new members would join them all every day. So, what has truly happened? Is the WWW population naturally biased? Or, has the WWW just turned into another liberal social engineering tool?
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE... CANCEL CULTURE IS ALIVE AND WELL @JPF! YOU'LL NEVER KNOW WHAT'S ALREADY BEEN DELETED...

LOL, you will never take over The Muse FD
First off, Jodi Krangle, who founded The Muse and handed the reins to its members, is tight with Brian. They began their sites around the same time.
Second, The Muse is now member run, and has monthly lyric and song contests and other activities that keep members engaged...lots of bodies volunteering....to organize and administer and such
Third, you will find various JPF members there already.
If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop

Ar very keast it demonstrates that there still an interest in forums, member run has nothing to do with it, if they weren't enjoying the content they'd be gone. Those monthly contests are as meaningful as well, u know. But still they got some people They can be taken over, all that could be mine..... muhahahahahahaha
