John, Has there been a misunderstanding? Do you believe that I actually suggested you should take your 77y/o type 1 diabetic wife off insulin?
Never gave it a second thought JAPOV - ha, ha. I will say Type 1 diabetes is easier to regulate than Type2. Especially using the pump (which she does). Type 1 diabetics can basically eat whatever they like (still have to think of basic nutrition though). Sandy just has to bolus in the number of carbs when she eats, then the pump will handle the rest. I love how the pump alerts her in the middle of the night when her blood sugar is too low or high - a life saver.

Will you please do me a favor, John... check in on Brian and make sure he's taking "HIS" medication?

In his well meaning rants he uses propaganda type information and believes it as true.
Iike he said insulin should cost the same as ibuprofen. he obviously heard that somewhere, and there are unique povs anywhere you go online
Prolly saw it on a right wing site
Absurdity of course.
I don't think he mean Johns wife any harm, and I certainly don't think John had any intent on following his methods lol.
But medical science definitely has pioneers who make discoveries that are not always accepted right away.
Like insulin resistance... For somebody who has done alot of reading on the subject, is something on the verge of being standard ino I know a lot of people with diabetes now, didn't know any ten years ago.
But for type 2, it's pretty clear that insulin alone is not the answer. You put it in and it leaks into healthy tissue cause it's not going to right places.
The academics know this but not every Dr does .
Lose weight and exercise, insulin is pointless otherwise...fir type 2
Actually Canada essentially told the pharma industry it cannot overcharge Canadians for medicine. We have a price review board that regulates this. Also encourages\stipulates "generics" ....drugs everyone can make now that patents have expired...
But yes, we definitely look to the USA when in trubke LOL
Actually, we have had eachother's backs since we came down and burned down your White House in 1812 to teach you not to mess with us.
If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop

Yeah they taught us all right. Canada can tell alot of countrys to do alot of things , when they know who's gonna fight their battles
"Our enemies may not be who we think they are. They are not Major Label monopolies. The world will always have 'majors.' They are not big corporations who own everything. The world will always have 'big' ones. Our enemies are not the loud mouthed critics telling us we will fail. The world will always have those too. Our most dangerous enemy is our own quiet acceptance of the fate we perceive these entities have mapped out for us. The only danger is our own complacency, or inactivity, and our willingness to believe so called experts who tell us we 'can't' and that our grim fate is inevitable." -Brian Austin Whitney
Thank God for all the "Major Label Monopolies, Big Corporations Who Own Everything, and Loud Mouthed Critics" who always have the best interest of their competition in mind. Everything I hear in the MSM today is obviously a heartfelt signal of success for the rest of us to follow

No matter how untenable the circumstance, you can always depend upon the vast sum of participants to simply be creatures of habit; Slaves of smug complacency true to their vices.
The smallest minority are the wise who accurately anticipate inevitable outcomes... and are despised above all.

Type 1 Diabetes is something that needs lifelong treatment
Type 2 comes from bad dietary habits that include ingesting too much sugar. Regulating that intake is hard because it is everywhere and insuling resistance comes about because your it gets harder and harder to pack more fat into your cells BTW the result of a political decision that decided between sugar and fat as the bad guy in a diet somewhere back around 1960 if memory serves me. The decision was controversial but won and by the sugar industry ...which had then and continues to lobby politically and influence the public into thinking it is good for you ...... by funding so called scientific conclusions experts continue to debate
You have heard of intermittent fasting I am sure Essentially you compress "good eating" within a daily 8 hour window. With Type 2 diabetes, the sugar levels will come down.
But of course there are now drugs to do the same..bring sugar levels down
So you can choose. eat lots of sugar and take drugs to counter the effects or intermittently fast and reduce sugar
You WILL lose weight and your long term sugar levels will slide below the diagnosis threshold.
Now I am sure it will not work with everyone and everyone should talk about it with their doctor. Google Dr Jason Fung if you are interested in this at all.
John,
That explains SOME Type 2 issues, causes and effects, but does not apply to ALL. It is a diverse problem. I know people who eat healthy are at or below average weight for their height but who still develop insulin resistance. Type 1 diabetics can also experience both resistance and hyper sensitivity based on TONS of varying health problems and circumstances, as well as some that are unexplainable. In some cases, having high blood sugar, (especially a problem before the advanced testing systems they have now) can also lead to insulin resistance. There was a long time where you only got color coding results that had shading to indicate "ranges" of blood sugar and no way to calibrate or check on their accuracy except a blood draw at a hospital (later at a doctor office) to check for accuracy. I found my ACTUAL blood sugar was often WAY different than the color coding related to metabolism quirks my body has. So my results led to incorrect assumptions and adjustments leading to both high and low blood sugars as a result. I played college sports making things super dangerous and tricky. I had to keep my blood sugar intentionally elevated and after 4 years of that, it kind of locked my metabolism to being used to higher levels. That has followed me into adulthood, so I have serious symptoms of low blood sugar at much higher levels than most diabetics. Even now with sensors and a pump monitoring levels, it is a problem because the "norms" baked into these products clashes with my biology which has led to weight gain and much larger insulin requirements. Only recently has it gotten closer to normal (for more health reasons). It is a super complicated disease (Type 1 and Type 2) with a myriad of difficulties. It is why it is one of the top causes of death. My only other Type 1 relative (until my son) died at 59. So I know the clock is ticking. My son has it and got it 10 years younger than I was. He had a MUCH tougher trajectory.
So that is why seeing well meaning people who are simply ignorant of the realities, offering advice that would literally lead to death is a bit triggering. I feel the same way when well meaning people offer all sorts of Cancer advice (when they have never had nor had anyone close with it) while people are in daily life and death struggles and are sometimes desperate for any hopeful idea. Most doctors are wrong often (sadly) so having advice from the peanut gallery is annoying and dangerous. I know a lot of people who were so desperate they pursued ANY idea ANYONE put out there and many were scammed out of their money and out of their last breathing days.

I think Musk and Trump hitched their wagons to Mars.
Musk used his ability granted by Citizens United to elect Trump and Trump will announce government support for Musk's mission.
Part of this deal, or as some would say "The Art of This Deal" is Musk's promise to open the first Trump Mars City with a golf course that will feature lots of sand traps and no water hazards
Integrate that Tony

The music industry is AWESOME! No matter how great you think you are, YOU CAN ALWAYS SPEND MORE MONEY!
Man it's just music and small following . Your jaded lol
Better then talking bad news on politics and all that bullshit
Fine, Elvis... If you tell me that I shouldn't take you seriously, then I won't. I'll just assume that all the insults are in jest. I'll ignore your anti-politics, anti-Christian, anti-AI campaign, and just keep doing my best to make you look foolish.
Deal? Does that seem fair?
