This girl is so annoying, im not sure its worth watching. But if anybody knows what is being said, in two sentences feel free to let me know., cause it MIGHT be very important
Well, I listened to the entire video. A lot of baloney in there. One thing that caught my attention, is getting the US copyright is based on the honesty of the writer. The writer has to specify what parts of the song or recording they created prior to the AI app. All the writer has to say is it's all mine in its entirety.
As far as an official copyright. It's not needed until a lawsuit occurs. At that time a US Copyright is needed just to get into court. A writer can get a copyright any time prior to the court appearance. Of course, in court the copyright is useless. The writer still has to prove his work was stolen. A monumental task!
On a side note... ASCAP is now accepting "partially" AI generated music. Exactly how ASCAP is going to determine to which degree the song is AI generated is a big mystery. I imagine the same way the US Copyright Office makes the determination - from what the writer tells them. Not to worry, all writers are honest people.

John
Yeah, its foggy either way.
All songs ai or not are borrowed from others, otherwise every song would so so completely different than anything else.
So my take is, even if copyrighting the traditional, way, what real proof do you have that this melody belongs to you.
You'd have to analyze every song ever written to see if it was your original idea. And chances are its been done already, and multiple times
That said, I believe the issue is in the disclosing.
You're right many will never admit they got a Melody from Ai,.
If a song becomes a hit, you coukd imagine suno will be using Ai detectors to see if somebody used Ai for that song
Its easy to tell its ai, if using the actual track generated.
Much harder id imagine, if it's te recorded and using own singing voice..
I guess the main problem as you say is the honestly.
If your fans find out later you took everything from Ai.,
And if you're going to file a copyright infringement lawsuit, better have a lot of money. Our band from the 60's made 45's of our song "Won't You Tell Me". Back From the Grave Vol. 5 included that in their release. I can't help but wonder how much Crypt Records still makes from all their volumes of highjacked music. Not worth fighting it.

Yeah especially if sold at vinyl collection events.
I still love vinyl for that reason. My buddy who passed away, had Beatles revolver unopened...
And a Willie Mays baseball card.
No, not worth fighting. You'd have to be expecting huge payoff to win a case like that.
Copyright doesnt really protect you, unless youre a big star and can use it.
Little guy rarely wins those cases, even with copyright.
Mostly cause ' no possible other explanation" is hard to prove.
Gas is 7 bucks a gallon to drive to recording studios to work with the incoming extinct humans . The least of my worries is a lawyer that looks like a runway model and raddling off again on Robots in love in God We trust courtrooms. Come to order all you cheap charlies , or I will fine the robots on contempt .

Lol. She's clearly cashing in on the need for info about Ai stuff.
I dont know if they get paid more for having a longer video or what, but she was rambling through most of it.
Very annoying, but you get what you pay for. I wonder what her music sounds like?
With that, this site is officially gone. I guess I should follow suit.
The starfish site is boring too but does bring some laughs. Funny reading people being told they are great musicians, and producers cause they use suno.
And nobody talks about the song, which are in general, bad.
Again, get what you pay for.
I dont know what's next. I might consider a new kind of forum, one whete users give ratings, instead of comments.
Guess for now I ll work on getting myself more into the tracks, and use suno as band and producer.
She's alright I've heard her . Some gothic band of some kind. Naw John gas is 7 here in Calif . A dollar cheaper if you hit the Indian reservation Casinos gas stations . The probably have a deal with someone . A 100 dollars in cash lasted 2 and half days . it has the same respect of a dollar bill these days . You do not get excited on seeing one now.
Ive already mentioned this . You do a little promotion as the artist on FB or YouTube .Just be happy on being able to pick up a guitar and a few comments , good song man. Everyone on forums are old . So when you promote yourself you will get an audience from 45 to 70 years old . You will not attract 22 year olds . No they never heard of the Beatles or Journey.

Whatever monkey is running the show . I haven't watched the news since 1968 , No I don't want to be informed . I don't care about religion or politics . Write a song and shut up , Record at your local studio lol
There's money involved , So I'm sure the whole AI and copywrites will be panned out .

Hey Dom, I missed that comment over at Starfish. But I did see something similar here.
I can't speak for every song posted at those other songwriting sites, but one thing I have noticed is that people generally receive feedback when they post a song. Interestingly, some songs here have accumulated thousands of views without generating much discussion at all. Your song "She Wont Say(done)" is a good example. To me, that's a lot more boring than people actually listening and commenting, whether the feedback is positive or negative.

Rob nobody was talking to you. We were getting along here with a good thread, you're coming in to shift on it.
You have alot of nerve. You got vnorth telling everybody how musically talented you are.
You have no musical talent, none.
And that's ok, people should be allowed to have fun with this stuff.
But you got your fellow liberal pals willing to say you're great, and its an embarrassment.
You are not a musician, nor a singer, nor a composer, your just a guy who has a toy.
I tried to figure out what it was. And its cause you've gotten supporters cause of your liberal beliefs, not cause you are good at music.
Your so called sade song is a perfect example.
I listened and every word I heard, was eyes...
I counted you say eyes 27 times, if that wasn't enough, you, also say stare, look, gaze, wink...
Where is the fackin story?
Amazing to me that anybody who heard this song never thought of this.
It speaks to how people critique people, not songs.
There are people who have worked long hours and years honing their craft.
Its a disgrace to read that drivel about yours..
We know who's over on that site. Liberal a to z.
No place in music discussion.
Work on writing better lyrics. That is all your responsible for, beside curatimg the music

You're just mad cuz you were banned off her site along with muse. You're much better off going to the studio , Build a brand and promote . People get butt hurt and tempers flare on forums , it's silly .
Back to topic. I'm sure money will be flowing on the big dogs Suno and humans on copywriters. Trying to get you to go to studio , is like pulling teeth , So you spend your time bitching .
Put your money where your mouth is and shut up . The studio is waiting , along with a 4k coffin , Try to get to studio before the coffin .

You said you didn't understand the story behind the song. It's about the kind of connection that develops between two people who have shared a lifetime together. At some point, words become almost unnecessary. A glance, a wink, or a lingering look can communicate more than an entire conversation. Whether the song succeeds at conveying that idea is, of course, up to the listener.
As for the repetition, I think we're looking at it from different perspectives. You claimed you listened and every word you heard was "eyes". Well, I'd say you didn't listen very well. The real question isn't how many times a word appears. The question is whether the repetition serves the song. Since the entire concept revolves around communication through eye contact, references to eyes, looking, gazing, and winking are central to the theme.
Commercial songwriting is full of songs built around repeated title hooks. As a songwriter, you should know that. "Let It Be" repeats its title throughout the song. "Born in the U.S.A." repeats its title throughout the song. Countless successful songs rely on repetition because repetition is often what makes a hook memorable.
If your criticism is that the song needs more narrative and less emphasis on the central image, that's a fair songwriting observation. But that's not what you wrote. If your criticism is simply that the word "eyes" appears too often, then we'll have to agree to disagree.
Either way, I appreciate you taking the time to listen and share your thoughts.
I had a listen and I enjoyed your song, even though it is not my favorite genre. I got what you were saying in the song from the first verse. Your story of being a non-performing songwriter is my story. It can be frustrating getting your songs even heard, let alone recorded.

Everett, thank you - really appreciate you listening and taking the time to comment. Glad the song came across clearly from the first verse. It looks like we have a lot in common.

Everett, youre a great guy, dont let this bum soft soak you.
As you can see he comes into this thread, to tell me he thought one of my songs was boring.
Not sure how he gets away with that.
This song is bad, but if he wasnt such sn arrogant, "hey look at me, kind of guy, it wouldn't be like thus.
Btw, listening to songs, and not telling anyone you listened, is kind of like writing a letter and ntr mailing it.
Wouldn't you want somebody to know you listened?
Don't feel sorry for him, he provokes the responses he gets.
Understanding a song, does not make it good art either.
We dont ask our favorite artists to...write something we can clearly understand, we ask them to write something great and entertain us.
Dom, that's actually an interesting philosophical argument. I'd be curious to hear how others here see it as well.
Personally, I wouldn't describe myself as a performer. I've always been more of a studio guy. That's the role I've enjoyed most throughout my musical life.
For example, the original Suno version of "The Language Of Your Eyes" was over six minutes long. I created multiple covers, edited and shortened stems, combined parts from different takes, and shaped the final arrangement. On some songs I even add my own recordings, although I didn't do that on this one.
So while AI is part of my workflow, I still see myself primarily as someone who writes, produces, edits, mixes, and molds recordings into a finished track. That's much closer to a studio producer's mindset than a performer's, at least in my view.

In listening to a recording, the perfomer is whats playing. Gary mentioned how good your voice was, on your song, he obviously doesnt have a clue as to how it sounds good, he probably doesnt use suno or tried using his own voice through it.
It will make you sound good, but to him, your voice is good.
thats what im talking about. The recording is one thing, live performance is another. Even before AI, the recording false represented artists. Auto tune made singers sound like they had perfect pitch, all the fine production techniques creates an illusion, that this recording is real. same for guitar playing...you can record the same part a hundred times till it sounds perfect, then the listener thinks its perfect.
i guess it doesnt matter, you either like it or you dont.
I would say with AI, you are the Artist, but its a sub genre of actual music.
Its music curating, and music decision making, which can be an art in itself, but it's also not artistry in the traditional sense.
its a new art form.some people using ai may be better than a real organic singer or musician using AI.
but disclosure is important. One day you could be asked to perform live...
You sure have a lot of knowledge for never stepping in a recording studio Dom . No if your not singing them you are not the artist . Suno is the artist .

Ben im the only one you give [naughty word removed] about using AI> be consistent, and you make no sense whatsoever
Santana ? Well his a genius guitar player lol. I give everybody a hard time on robots. Ya got laugh on this situation . So when is this magically moment your gracing the studio ? So you stop preaching lol.

Yes, Carlos Santana is a songwriter. While he is most famous for his iconic guitar playing and band leading, he has written or co-written many original songs and instrumentals across his decades-long career.Santana's Songwriting WorkInstrumentals: He wrote or co-wrote some of the band's most recognizable instrumental tracks, such as "Europa" and "Samba Pa Ti".Classic Vocals: He has credits on vocal tracks ranging from early hits like "Evil Ways" to later, massive collaborations.Dream-inspired writing: He wrote the lyrics for "Do You Remember Me" from his 2019 EP, In Search of Mona Lisa, after waking up from a dream.Collaborations: He frequently co-writes with his band members and collaborators. For example, he co-wrote much of his 2019 album Africa Speaks with producer Rick Rubin and vocalist Concha Buika
