Hey Steve, Good, solid theme. The wrong "your" in there but nobody but a publ. would kick about it since it sings the same. (Well,Bopbbie'd get you for it but she ain't here. Where is that blonde anyway?) Good hook but doesn't seem like it's tied in tight enough. Looks like it should be led into better the first time 'specially. Maybe something about the sun coming up and he's still playing this game. See what others say. Good basis for a song. Been done, but what hasn't Wy

Calvin,
Thanks for the stop by, and read... I normally just write my song challange song as i am reading other peoples posts on the song, this one though... well it sang a little free-er, and i was enjoying singing the chorus. i suppose i'd dedicate it to all the playstation widows out there who dread the idea of a new grand theft auto comming out...
cheers steve

Wyman,
Thanks for stopping by to see this, and staying to comment. I have the worst Grammer in the history of writing... you would think i wasn't a high school graduate... (My highschool had early release policy for the children of tobacco farmers so their kids could prime (pick) tobacco during harvest season. and the school was in between four tobacco fields. so maybe that impacted my education just slightly. but more than anything.. i am lazy. i got used to microsoft word, which points out, and auto corrects my writing for me. so i type faster, and just let it do it's thing.
cheers -steve

Feels a bit Too-Loose, Lautrec!
(Tho as I continued readin', felt LOTS like Beatles' "Obla-Dee Obla-Da" song..)
The Hook's In There...but gets muddled by Chorus' 2nd line, methinks. "Tomorrow" (Properly spelled) DOESN'T "start Today"...("Yesterday's Tomorrow" does.)
Still..it's a fun Romp, & if it's got as good a musical bed as Obladee-Obladaa has, ya might even have a Hit on yer hands.
Good Luck with it, Amigo! Big Guy-Hug, Stan

Hey Sofa
now at least we know how you got your nick...bridge is very Calvinesque..a very good thing...Obladee-Obladaa sounds about right, though I was hearing Manford Man's "Quinn The Eskimo"

Hey Steve, Hadn't had a chance to look at this with all my nitpicking around town..but this is your lucky day, b/c it appears I've run out of them! Yup, I have a call into the Nit Brigade, and still no word back...... Regardless, I really liked this song anyway. It makes me appreciate how lucky I am to have hubby right here (well, he's actually across the street with the kids at a friend's pool, but you know what I mean). It also shows me how EXCITED you are to get back home...how are you keeping yourself sane with the anticipation? I suppose in your circumstances, though, you've trained yourself not to really think beyond the next day (or NOT? What keeps ya going over there, my friend??) I am also going to have to jump on the JM bandwagon, and flag the same favorite part as: I asked her what she thought was wrong she answered with a kiss we've made a couple kids since then she just so hard to resist Anyway, glad I finally got a peek... Keep at it buddy, b/c when you get home, I think that honey do list is going to be a mile long -- and it probably will NOT be an unpleasant journey Cheers, Beth P.S. This pic of Victoria gets me every time....she is smirking, I swear!!!

Rittamn,
I won't pretend that is where my screen name comes from.. unless it hides the truth.... he he he I wrote this while typing into a song contest thread, and liked what i did, it is just under a Calvin write... or was it over a calvin write? either way I did see his post before i wrote the bridge, so he must have inspired it. I haven't heard Quinn the Eskimo... but i'll look for it. Thanks for stopping by.
cheers -steve

Charlann,
I am indeed a sloppy writer... My teachers used to call me messy Marvin... (remember young Peter Billingsley in the nestlies Quick commercials as Messy marvin?) My spelling, and Grammer do need attention, but i have to slow it down, and perhaps type it out on Microsoft Word and then transfer it here... Thanks for reading, and Commenting... My Sunshine Day should hover around the 20th barring any incredible complications. and my sunshine girl, and Mr. Trucks a lot will be there to greet me. I get teary just thinking of the home comming. the moment you see your family for the first time and all that stress you carried from day one when you left is suddenly gone. and al that matters is olding your family, and try to tell them you won't ever go again, but knowing that leaving again is only a matter of months. raises the question, does the sun ever shine when i am not there?
Cheers Steve.

Beth, I feel i have cheated on you, by writing on Jean's Song Challange... Can you forgive me? I try to hit every challange i can. I use the Taxi Tip Sheets as my "to do" list. i can never get it all done, but i always get some of it done. The Voters of America keep me comming back over here... I can't not come over if the command i am in is ordered to come. you know? Rachel Has a honey do list that includes "get these kids away from me long enough to get a bath... so that is first on the list. the rest will came as needed. My Avatar is Victoria sleeping on Nanny's (grandma's) chest. they are laying down, and she is dreaming about feeding.... i think. (but i like to think Angels in her head are telling her a baby joke. cheers Steve

Hey, Steve! Like Beth, I gotta join the JM club in how much I liked
I asked her what she thought was wrong she answered with a kiss we've made a couple kids since then she just so hard to resist
I guess now that we'll be seeing more of you 'round here now that you're shipping out your gear. Hope you get to hang on to your guitar.
I use Word for my writing too, but I have to turn of the grammar and spelling, otherwise the darn thing looks like a christmas tree by the time I'm done with all my Aint's, gonna's and so forth.
I pray that you get home safely and that by the time your rotation is up, there will be no need for you to be called overseas, and you will be able to get back to the business of being a husband and a father.
Stay sharp, buddy.

Peter,
Thanks for Stopping by for a read, and comment, I must have gold with those lines. I never thought i could write something that people would agree that they liked. (even if it is a four line stanza) he he he. I have to use the Grammer and spelling section, the christmas tree will disappear, when you copy and paste.
I am limited to being on this site by the firewall that shuts off all websites except .mil ones every day but sunday at 1000.
I will hold my guitar until i absalutely have to get rid of it. maybe i can figure out how to carry it home...
I pray that they find a way to win this thing too. but if not win... a way to end the violence being caused to the civillians. I welcome the insurgents to attack me... but they won't they hide from me. they prefer to be cowards and blow up schools, and markets. If they were hard to their cause they would attack me for being an outsider. but instead they take on the bad guy role, and force us to protect the people from them. .... i'll save this for another rant...
peace my friend.
-steve
