Hi Louis,
Man, this is very haunting. Nicely done all around. Although there have been a number of songs saying basically the same thing about change this stands along with them very well. I really enjoyed it. Sounds like it could have been penned by John Prine perhaps.

Hi Louis,
Nice one, and more wistful than sad, so thank you for that! I like this line, "grandpa used to hunt and fish where the new walmart sits". No telling what those big boxes are covering up!

Very nicely done. Good story and good song. I enjoyed the listen. If it weren't for memories, what would we have to write about?

Nice fresh approach to these lyrics. It really conveys a nice picture. I can see grandpa in the song....

Your walmart line ........if that isn't a relatable (fantastic) line, Louis.... How many fields JUST outside town are now a Shopping Mall or Walmart... This is just such a beautiful, wistful song...words and melody and the way you convey it... are just right!...
I so enjoyed hearing this....this morning, Louis...
very best.... Kaley

You have such a distinctive style and voice. I really enjoy listening to your songs. This one brought a ton of imagery as I listened, like I was taking a tour of the town where grandpa lived. Good song.

Hey Louis,
Seems I'm playing catch up tonight...
What a tender and not-overly sentimental gem you have here. Everything about it is understated, which gives it that wistful feeling Ricki described.
While your voices are dissimilar, the song and it's execution reminded me a bit of Harry Chapin. Like you, he knows how to pull at your heartsrings just the right amount....
Very nice... :), Beth
