Hi Jim Golly gosh, you started a good challenge hah,  so are we going to have two final songs to choose from, one for male, and one for female hah?  I'm in, can we change the way they sing the song, and the production to our own version hah? If I'm asking dumb questions, you have to understand I'm new at this.  Michele Aussie friend

Hi Michele I think there will be just one song chosen for us all to cover. That is why I suggest choosing a song that is not gender specific or limiting by its genres. You can cover it any way you choose. It can be a straight cover of the original version or done in any style or arrangement of your own. Best of luck.

Bohemian Rhapsody has been pulled of MANY times.. I bet I've had over 100 versions of it in the last couple years in the awards and we even nominated 1 version of it in our Cover category and it finished second that year I think. One guy with an acoustic guitar. So there's nothing original about covering that song. Happens all the time.
Brian And I think the same comment will eventually apply to ANY song we might deem "uncoverable". But if this song ends up being covered by a whole bunch of JPF members, I think we will be in for some very good entertainment, and everyone will learn a LOT about what it takes to pull off a wildass composition like that one.

That's kind of what I was thinking, too, Mark. With so many naysayers commenting about many of the songs on the list, it almost seems the original question has been answered: There is no such thing as an uncoverable song, as it would appear that a number of performers here have, at one time or another, done every song ever written.
Still, whatever song is chosen, I will enjoy listening to the various interpretations. I recommended "Bohemian Rhapsody" because I personally have not heard other versions of it (though apparently there have been many) and, like I said before, that's one song that would almost certainly require an innovative take on it.
And for the couple of comments that seem anti-"Bohemian Rhapsody," keep in mind that your JPF brethren are the ones voting for it. Are they all misguided in their thinking?
