Hello Louis....
Cast all you care upon Him for He careth for you.
Your daughter may be 32 but she's still your baby. This is a difficult time as a parent. So thankful the latest news looks encouraging but will still ask that ShieAnn will regain full health.
Gob bless you all with His strength and comfort, Lynn

Hello dear Louis, I see that there are some good indications occurring with your daughter in that the swelling is coming down and she is out of the induced coma. I pray that she continues to heal quickly and that this will all soon be behind you both.
It is indeed a blessing that you are able to be with your daughter during this time. Cherish each other. These are the times which bond for eternity.
Blessings to you both, Heidi

Hi Everyone:
Just got another update from Louis. ShieAnn opened her eyes for a little while last night when they were playing a recording of her children's voices. Small improvements but improvements nonetheless. They'll be moving her to a long care room soon.
Louis says that he really appreciates you folks and hopes we can keep the prayers and positive thoughts coming. Thanks everyone!

P.S. From one of the nurses: "To those who believe, no miracle is necessary, To those who doubt, no miracle is sufficient. Courage, fear that has said it's prayers" That's beautiful. Glad she is doing a little better. Keep us posted, Scott.

Just heard from Louis - some good news. The medical folks had been looking for ShieAnn to make signs of "purposeful movement". Earlier today she tried to remove her breathing tube - which was interpreted as a good sign. Then later she sat up in bed and reached for her husband. Even more purposeful, I reckon They plan to remove the breathing tube tomorrow. Again, Louis is very thankful for your prayers and support. Thank-you all! Scott

Scott,
That's all great news! The fact that she's cognizant of the tube and her husband is very encouraging. Helen made similar gestures after she emerged from her coma. The doctors told me that that was the type of responses they were looking for. So, having experienced a somewhat simiular situation with Helen, I can only anticipate that ShieAnn is moving in a positive direction. Our prayers are still with Louis and ShieAnn's family. Thanks for the update.

Hi all... I've been peaking in every once in awhile reading all your prayers and thoughts of support. They mean so much to my wife and I right now. Shie is continuing to progress. She's moving her arms, waking up now and then, looking around. I tickled her feet, she moved her toes She actually grunted at the nurse twice this morning during physical therapy, lol. They've got the breathing tube out and she's breathing on her own, which was a major victory!!! The doctor's ordered that we play music for her. It stimulates the brain in ways they can't explain. So we've got a coupla mp3 players hooked up. So, it's slow going but each day seems to bring success. We're a long way from where we were last week. I ask that you please continue praying and thinking of her. Almost forgot, I wanted to give Scott a special thanks for asking for all ya'lls prayers for me. Thanks Friend

Louis,
So good to hear from you that Shie is making notable progress. I'm thinking your situation with Shie is more dangerous than when Helen was in her coma. But, to some defree I can empathize with you. every little step is worth a big celebration!
Helen and I will continue to keep her in our prayers. Wishing your family the very best, my friend.

Louis, best wishes to your daughter and your family, sometimes a big event like this can happen in your life and if she can get through it, the strength she'll acquire from that will help in the rest of her life.
Best wishes from Camden Town.

I've been praying for both your daughter and Al's wife... such hard times. If you haven't done it already, I'd encourage you to play your guitar for your daughter. I think if there's songs that you used to sing as a family around the campfire or around the kitchen table... those songs might stimulate something in her brain too. I'm a nurse and I really believe in the power of music. Peace and Godspeed, Ian

Louis, I can't give you book chapter and verse just now but "where two or more of you are gathered in my name there am I also". And brother we are all gathered in His name. Let's pray in faith she makes a full recovery and thank our heavenly Father for every good and perfect gift.
That is such wonderful news I could just about cry. I'm sure you have. Play her some tunes.

Hi Gail:
I was incommunicado for a week - just got back last night.
Got an email update from Louis though and just talked to him on the phone. ShieAnn was moved up to a ward a couple days ago. Louis says this is a good thing because she'll get more physical therapy.
She's becoming more and more responsive to stimuli as well. So she is continuing to make progress. It's going to be a long haul though and, at any given time, Louis is either working or at the hospital. So I'd like to ask everyone to say a prayer or send a thought his way to keep his strength up.
Thanks for bumping this, Gail!

Just got word from Louis that ShieAnn spoke a few words yesterday during physical therapy. They could make out a "why" but not the other three words.
On behalf of Louis, thanks again to everyone.
