This was a collaboration with RODERICK (as he is known on JPF, I've been a fan of his writing (poems and lyrics). Again, I am acapella, but I am working very hard locally to find a musician, I was even asked to be in a band...not sure how to respond to that... The infamous shower stall where I make these recordings (fully dressed) just got re-caulked, hope if it makes any difference...it will be for the better!! LOL!! ** I am in tears, thank you so much Mork (Andy) for this music.. To everyone else, there are not gaps to give Andy space to let loose because I cut out dead space for Acapella, so your imagination may still be needed, but I can't tell you how I feel to have music...it is always a special gift!!
I also hear now that I was sharp, but better to be sharp than flat, but it is bound to happen when singing without music...THANK YOU ROD AND ANDY FOR EVERYTHING YOU HAVE DONE AND SAID AND FOR MAKING MY DREAMS COME TRUE! THE DREAM on SoundClick THE DREAM Rod Coleman c-2010 A fantasys perfection Safe inside the dream Waiting is a lover No one's ever seen He's all you've wanted Searching hard to find In the darkened silence Deep within your mind (chorus) Living life so lonely You don't question why? Living for you only The dream will never die Not just a feeling You're trying to hide Or an emotion Easily described The dream's a longing Echoing through time In the darkened silence Deep within your mind (chorus) Living life so lonely You don't question why? Living for you only The dream will never die With daily struggles For your sanity He's been whoever You need him to be Life is confusing Nothing's as it seems Except for one waiting Safe inside the dream (chorus) Living life so lonely You don't question why? Living for you only The dream will never die (Chorus Repeat)

Hi Tammy -another fine performance and melodic journey here.... If you pick up a simple instrument like a ukelele or mandolin you could strum along just fingering notes.... there are simple lessons for free on the net for so many things... one of my favorites is www.folkofthewood.comanyway with such a melodic mind - you should find an instrument to go with your voice.... even if you find musicians to play for you. jm

Hi Tammy & Roderick,
I really like the lyric…it’s poetic and thoughtful and general enough to relate to it however the listener wants to.
I like the melody too….your voice is very pretty…and like Joice says, this song seems like it could take off with a simple instrument of some kind…
I wish you the best with it…!

Joice,
I do appreciate that you not only listen, but that you never give up on me!! Thanks for the link!
On a more personal note, to say that I have a "melodic mind" is, to me, a very beautiful thing to say. No one has ever described me in such a way and I thank you for that observation, it meant more to me than you know.

Hey there Tams,
Oh yes, lots of thoughts evoked with this one. It could be simple, just piano and voice,( maybe guitar ) or a more produced number. There would be a natural tendancy for a celtic drone, but that could easily be overcome.
Batter up !, you slack musicians in New England. Give the girl some backing.
cheers, niteshift
PS - Keep singing in that shower cublicle, it's abviously working. A well known studio sax player I hired once, always had to play in the dark. Clothed, fortunately. The studio sessions became known as "Sax in the Dark with Bernie". I must think up a suitable moniker for you Tams.........
PPS - I won't even start on fellow JPF member Al David, and his lost underwear.........

Amazing what you can do with just your voice.
As far the band, if they are local, I'd give it a try, to see what it feels like but Your voice sounds perfectly suited to team with a really good acoustic guitarist or pianist, maybe a small quartet.

Hi you two, Pretty lyric and Tammy did anyone ever tell you that you sound alittle like Ricki on our board. That's a compliment to both of you. My only thing is the last line of the Chorus feels like it should go somewhere differnt melodically than it currently does. I feel like it kind of hangs there somewhat, although at the end w/your 2 Final Chorus' it is okay there. Best, Lynn

Jan, I agree, Tammy has a great voice. I think she would sound good singing anything. I'm just glad she is singing my lyrics with her melody. I definately got the better end of this deal. Thanks for your comments. Much appreciated.

Nelson, Thank you for your comments. I too have told Tammy to just go and give it a try. See if there is any chemistry with the band. I agree also Tammy has such a classy voice even just an acoustic guitar would be enough. I think if we keep pushing she might give it a try. thanks again, Roderic

Hi Tammy & Roderic This Aussie girl thoroughly enjoyed my listen, great write. Tammy you certainly can sing, such a beautiful voice, I always enjoy listening. Join that Band Tammy, I've been singing with a band every week now. The local Country band get together twice a week, for practice sessions, and I'm having a ball learning to sing with the band, and Yep, I got them working hard too, singing "These Boots are made for Walkin'" "Delta Dawn" "Paper Roses" and last night I had them playing "Green Door" I love singing that one, lots of fun. My only nit, I agree with Lynn on the ending, it does just hang, but I know from experience, if you record it professionally, then that can come later. Keep up the great work you two. Hugs Michele

Thanks so much for listening, I know acapella is hard, but you seem to be hearing what I am. I also love the lyric, poetic lyrics are my favorite, and this one is a gem!

Hi Tammy I like the vocal and the lyrics. Can't beat tiled wall for vocals. If you like I could try to put some music to this track ? It's always a bit tricky to write over a vocal but I might be able to come up with something. Just email me your vocal and I'll have ago. mork1976@gmail.com

Hi Tammy (and Mark), Sounds really nice. Great song, beautiful vox, Tammy, and fine guitar and bass work, Mark. All it needs is a drum track (as a drummer, I'm obliged to say that and you're there. Great job and exhibit A for how much better we truly are together. Kudos! Scott

No problem Tammy. You were only slightly sharp which is amazing given you were not singing to a backing track and just doing it from ear. Glad to help you with this track, If you like I'll arrange it properly and put drums to it and then you can re-record your vocals to the new track, send them to me and I'll mix it in. I should have a finished track for you by the weekend with a bridge plus a space for a solo as I think it's crying out for one lol Cool track both lyrically and vocally. Rgds Mark....oh I mean Mork Not sure where the Mark name has come from lol any is fine by me but Andy is what's on my Birth certificate.

I've heard it with and without. Kudos to the "Little Band from All Over"
Rod: Nice tight lyric I really like it. I like your writing. Tammy has shared a bit of it with me. Mork/Andy: Super job on the music! It definitely has some teeth!
Tammy: Last but far from least. I have believed in you since first we met. Now even more than ever! You do know that I am your number one fan!

Very nice song and a cool collaboration. Mork must be a mind reader to be able to add a guitar track to an existing a capela vocal.

Oh...this is a great song!
I love the melody, the vocal fits the tone. Mork, great work...Tam, wow!! I'm listening again.
The only thing I am hearing (or not hearing)in the third verse...since it's a rock song, I was waiting for the vocal to lift in the third line. It feels like its the same all the way through, I wanted that build when listening. Could just be me, haven't stretched my rock muscles in a while, but my ear wanted it and expected it. Other than that one little nit, I love it!!!

Hi Folk's if you like it now just wait for the finished version I've sent Tammy a demo of the new arrangment to see if it's ok to go ahead and arrange a drum bed for the track. Once that is done I will record the master and let Tammy/Rod work there magic with vocals/lyrics. Rgds Andy

Tammy, Rod, and Andy, Wonderful job guys! The lyrics are well-written and flow nicely. Tammy, you have a beautiful voice! Andy, again you have shown how talented you are at arranging music. Everything I hear of yours is different. Congratulations on a job well done! I am looking forward to hearing the new arrangement.

Michele,
You are right, a lot gets ironed out with the music, and it is, I promise.
Yes, the band thing is intriguing, but I do have a 2 year-old and need to make sure that time-wise it works out...
Appreciate your thoughts and seeing you again!

Hey lots of things to like here.
I liked the melody to this, and the guitar really lifts the song into the chorus.
Initially the chorus felt a bit short but after a while it felt right.
You have a nice tone in your voice and the degree of echo in your cubicle is good and not too boomy.
The lyrics and prosody were good too!

I really don't have any nits. It might work just a bit better if you made V3 a bridge, but this is definitely ok. The guitar arrangement builds during V3 and it works.
Nice job.
Peace,
Ian
