White Wolf strides silent and alone in the Night
Perching at the edge of the Earth, facing east
Pawing at the edge of my vision, pacing beast
The world rushes past Him
Too many paths wander on
But He will mark and guide them
What is it that you know, White Wolf?
White Wolf stands silent and alone in the Night
Quiet as Eternity, listening to angry cries
Bearing a sanguine smile, bristling at bloody lies
The world bustles around Him
While He waits for a moment we cannot see
Cocking His ear to the breeze, reticent and grim
What is it that you hear, White Wolf?
White Wolf stands silent and alone at the edge of the Night
Maintaining His patient vigil, unfaltering eyes
Watching the gathering clouds, ever darkening skies
The world brushes past Him
Too eager to see what’s beyond
While He rests on His haunches, peering at the rim
What is it that you see, White Wolf?
A thin halo of crimson
A crack in the gray that enshrouds us
White Wolf raises His voice to greet the awakening Light
A somber howl, rising on the Wind’s chill wing
The world hushes beneath His morning song
The world stops short...
...and then rushes on…

This is really good, I love a white wolf, so mysterious and sneaky....never know what they're thinking, but as the great white deer and buffalo, they're sacred....

Thank you! I love wolves... actually i love most all animals...
... i always kind of liked this... maybe my favorite thing i've written...
... sort of an interesting story behind it - it came from a class assignment where our teacher made us take a random photo out of a box she had - i got a photo of a white wolf, and wrote this basically in like 20 minutes in class...
