Hi, I don't see many Portlanders here . . . maybe we should have an intro thread?

I actually live in Vancouver, WA-- ya, that place across the river where Portland people don't want to go, but lots of Vancouverites work in Portland nevertheless.

So maybe I should ask-- any Vancouver, Washington people here?

Diane, I'm not in Portland, but I'm reasonably close--I live on the Coast 9 miles north of Tillamook. I do get into Portland on occasion: last time (mid-June) was to play at Eric John Kaiser's "Portland Songwriters Showcase" at the Thirsty Lion Pub in Old Town, and time before that was to play at Whitney Streed's Comedy Night at the Tonic Lounge in Laurelhurst. I'll be doing a benefit for the Willamette Writers Group in Tigard on July 28.

Would be nice to meet you. And I'm definitely interested in paying gigs in Portland/Vancouver, if there are any available. Oftentimes, I don't sell enough CDs to pay for the gas.

Thanks for your reply; Now I see that I had posted this message on the Seattle group by mistake (!)

Most of you Seattle people probably don't come to Portland often, but I'm interested in learning more about NW music/musicians in general.
