I had a chance to speak with Brett James last fall, he had basically started to give up on songwriting, registered for med school, moved back out west, when bam he got a call and had 2 cuts, big ones, inside of a week from things he had pitched before he left. Well, he moved back and as most all of us know he co-wrote "Jesus take the Wheel" with Hillary Lindsey, not to mention a slew of other hits. Believe in yourself, don't ever give up.
