I wrote this lyric while on vacation this summer visiting family in upstate New York. My brother, Gary Chase, took the lyric home with him and wrote the music and is also singing the song. Any feedback is welcome! Any genre stick out in your mind? Thanks! http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=12002185Legacy When you’re tired Without hope And stumble on your feet Be gentle, be kind As you go Dance a little in the street When long days Lay ahead (And) the sun beats on your back Stand up, stand down As you go Life goes by so very fast [ch] We leave a legacy To our daughters and sons Show them thru our actions How they’re the lucky ones Everything we have Can be left for someone else Cuz we leave a legacy By just being ourselves Pay it forward Keep it simple Enjoy the morning sun Look inside, look out As you go There’s so much to be done [br] When opportunities come around Listen to your heart sounds Listen to your heart sounds Listen to your heart [ch] We leave a legacy To our daughters and sons Show them thru our actions How they’re the lucky ones Everything we have Can be left for someone else Cuz we leave a legacy By just being ourselves We leave a legacy ©2012 Kristi McKeever/Gary Chase
