Jackie, have you been reading the Tennessean? This sounds like a real story that happened recently. Some guy had so many DUIs his wife took his car keys, so when he was in need of liquid refreshment, he hopped on his John Deere lawn tractor and drove to the store. He got his DUI on the way home.
(I see you live in Florida, but you can read most any newspaper you want online these days.)

Judging by the George Jones reference I'm assuming your intention was to steer this in a Country singers direction. I got that sort of vibe even before reading your comments. It's a fun lyric that I think could really work in that genre. I could hear this done to a simple acoustic arrangement with some harmonies thrown in on the chorus.
