I haven't listened yet but it's all here and just needs inspiring sing-along, bouncy melody to be a success.
For kids . . . I'd forgo the "blues" part as kids would be more ready and eager to relate to a happy cricket -- and besides if you say he's blue then it begs a reason why, which you don't need.
Verse 3 So those three went a hopping down the road TILL they saw Mr. Cricket, CLICKING HIGH AND low They said MR.Cricket . . .YOU LOOKIN FOR SOMETHIN' TA DO We'RE HOPIN' THAT YOU'LL hop with us too
If you say "were a hopping" then you would use "when" in line 2
