I used to read about all kinds of things about music and production. There was a compensation used in cutting a Vinyl Master called the RIAA Curve. What that means is the bass frequencies were cut some to prevent the lathe from cutting back into the groove that was just cut. The Phono Inputs added the bass compensation back in playback. Not sure what is being done today however. When recording with a tape recorder there was a high frequency passed thru the heads to make the tape record evenly. Kind of interesting that the young people are buying Vinyl.
