Thanks Cobber....hope you got my e mail..
As a musician..
The Ventures..made me want to play guitar Mike Bloomfield..make me want to play the blues on my guitar Jeff Beck..made me want to buy that really loud amp for my guitar Roy Buchanan..made me want to give up guitar ! King Curtis,Jimmy Smith,Stanley Jordan,Earl Palmer,Cannonball Adderley,...taught me in my formative years that there were lots of cool sounds that didn't come from a guitar. Brian Wilson...Phil Spector..these last two taught me about combining alot of instruments to create one sound
As a singer/performer
Eddie Cochran Little Richard Chuck Berry The Everly Brothers Buddy Holley Otis Redding Louis Armstrong Etta James The Band Ernest Tubb Hank Williams
As a writer/performing songwriter
Irving Berlin Bob Dylan John Prine Randy Newman Harlan Howard Steve Cropper James Taylor George and Ira Gershwin Paul Simon
There are many more, but these are the people most responsible for the development of my "style" in my formative years.
Bless 'em all !
And....thanks !
Bob
