new artists who don't write thier own music can't possibly be a bad thing for songwriters. i've personally met several people who have written songs that past idol contestants have cut...i won't drop names but 2 of them made over a million bucks on a single for an ex-idol now country star female. they were pretty happy about it, but weren't dwelling on it, they were already working on getting that next cut with another great song, that's our competition. those young non-writing artists need songs, and hey, i just happen to be a songwriter so to me that can only be a positive thing, especially with so many of the established artists writing for themselves and snagging a co-writing credit if you get a good song in front of them...an artist who needs me ++++ that's my take....moker
