Hey not to open a new can of worms here, but i truly don't understand.. what are the legalities involved copyright wise in redoing any of these songs and posting them for distribution on the internet.. wouldn't that be piracy?
or more accurately copyright infringement? People do covers of other people's songs all the time and post them on YouTube. I doubt they contact the songwriters for permission. In terms of recordings and song usage, you typically pay a fee based on the number of CDs or other media produced for sale.
