Okay...all of you seasoned guitar players. I embarked on this guitar journey only 4 months ago, so I need lots of help. Could you all please try to harken back to when you were learning and give me some tips on how I can get my fingers to play barre chords?

It seems that when I barre the strings....that isn't the hard part.....what is difficult is the reaching with my other fingers to higher frets without letting my index finger raise up....well in general, barre chords have been really hard for me to learn.

And...if there are some folks on here that took on a guitat playing challenge later in life and they actually succeeded....I would so love to hear from you. I need all of the encouragement I can get today...thanks so much..all.
