The only thing the verses have in common is how they make the writer feel...
Ian, I love reading your feedback. You are so detailed and generous with your knowledge. I'm not challenging your assessment of the song, I just wonder if Scott was trying something a litle different in the structure of the song.
No problems Nelson. I just throw my thoughts out there. Most folks just ignore them!  I disagree about the verses though. I think V1 and V2 are quite similar for the reason stated, and 'set the stage' in terms of focus quite strongly. I think Scott could also go the way you're suggesting by changing up V1 or V2. But as it is, when you get to V3 halfway thru the tune, it's a bit of a meander to my ears. Peace, Ian
