If you had seen that song here for the first time here, you would denounce it for this and that reason, guaranteed. But it is Robert Earl Keen's marquis song.

You know how to write songs (actually lyrics) the way you write them. You dont have a broad understanding of songwriting.
The structure of Gone By Dawn is fine for what it is. It tells a complete and compelling story and has some good lines.

I am not a good singer. I am not a musician or a guitarist but a fairly competent "guitar player." I am a struggling sound engineer, but I can get accepted by Spotify. I know ONLY how to write MY songs. I know all of those things to be reality.

And I also know that I am better than you at every one of them. If you had my skills you would think that you were King Kong music man.
You already think that you are, simply because you can prompt Udio. You think that the magnificent capacity of AI is actually an extention of your capacity.

It is not. You are just the guy pulling on a slot machine to see what comes out. The slot machine has nothing to do with you.

And as I stated elsewhere, your arguments with virtually all regulars are making people hate your music. Very likely people that you dont even know. And that matters to you, much more than me. Let up on it.
