Music theory isn't exactly my area of expertise, but I notice that Jazz styles often go into some interesting time signatures. On some traditional Jazz songs I can't even find the downbeat sometimes!

In that vein, I remember quite a few Steeley Dan songs that change time signature. For example "Aja" which, if I remember correctly, has 2/4, 3/4, and 4/4 measures.

I remeber learning an instrumental song by Carl Verheyen called "Big Sur" that, I think, is in 11/8 time. That's the wierdest one I've ever played and a real challenge to count!
