Perhaps not so much in the Ukraine, but I look at a lot of internal problems in third world countries as growing pains much like the US and most European countries had at one time when we had our own civil wars, wars between the states, etc. There was little if any outside influence when the US went through that. Countries like Iraq and Afghanistan have to sort themselves out. Perhaps the Ukraine has to do it to because it is not that long since the USSR was dissolved. I don't think the Ukraine is a threat to the US so we should probably limit our involvement to encouraging them to sort it out and line up with Europe.

Sometimes our system of government is not right for another country. Democracy sounds good but if the average person in some godforsaken African state only has a first grade education, should he be voting and determining the direction of the country.....I think not.
