John:
I do remember the Gibson raid. Thought it was politically motivated then and still believe it today. I also agree with Ray about the Government causing the housing bubble. We need to regulate Banks and Lenders but to have the Government competing in the same market with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac is unfair, unwise and downright corrupt.
Even today, when our economy looks like it might emerge from the recession caused by our own Government... I see ads on TV from a relatively well known company (used to be big software guys in personal accounting) now stating that the rules have been relaxed for HARP loans. These are loans for folks who do not really have the money to buy a home and are probably going to default soon after taking out such a loan.
So here we go again, perpetrating through our government of liars, thieves and outright fools, another financial debacle that we, the voting public, will have to pay for in bail outs, forfeitures and increased taxes. I won't even talk about the IRS and their war against the Tea Party.
Now is the time to consider carefully what the person you are voting for really "stands for."
We are a nation in deep trouble.
