Convert it to MP3 and listen on an ipod through mini earphones or plugs is a good tip. Most music nowadays is played on Mp3 players with earplugs so it stands to reason that it should have to sound good on your ipod/media player at least. That's exactly why I invested in $20 earbuds and keep them plugged into my headphone amp. ...just another "environment" where the song has to sound good.
