Friedman, as a libertarian, believed in the supremacy of the unregulated marketplace. And that's exactly what led to the financial meltdown of 2008. And who had to rush to the rescue of Friedman's unfettered capitalist bankers who worshiped at his altar of greed? Yes, government - or more correctly, the taxpayers. But who learns from history?
