1) I don't mind Old Dog Walker because I really like these double meanings where you have to figure out what it really means

2) As you are still writing this, why not have the old man die, and Walker spends his time looking for him on his land...then one day, "finds him" ...this could be the frame of the lyric, and packs a very powerful punch once people realize how faithful that dog was. A lot of the story can still be used, ie, the neighbours and the new owner can still be looking after him, but Walker is still not quite right, like something\someone is missing..



If writing ever becomes work I think I'm going to have to stop
