I notice that soundclick shows total song plays. Although what "total plays" is sometimes does'nt always add up to a complete listen of a recording. I look more at if someone can listen to a song of mine all the way through with that, as well as downloads. But I can recall in 2004 when SoundClick was the only game in town for me. I'm not one for being too agressive in the threads or taking advantage of all the promo opportunities. So I go to many sites with the best choice of streams I can for the listener. And also flexibility in the site. Not how many members there is.
How one sticks thierselves out there seems to have the most to do with it.
But I think that what you are reading in the stats to the bottom of the page counts differently. Because one gives complete streams, the other may not. I read from an administrator at Soundclick to where if a song is listened to for a minute that that counts as a play. Though of course, that does'nt have to mean a complete stream.
