While I agree that in most cases that is the case imagine this scenario. You are a student at this college who has a terrrible fear of people finding out personal information. You only talk with people you feel safe talking to about such things. Some of your conversation with these people is through email. Suddenly some big corporation wants to peruse your files and information to make sure you aren't illegaly downloading music. Can you say invasion of privacy? I do understand that criminals give up these rights however should the innocent be punished as well? This is why I am against the RIAA they aren't going after criminals they are trying to bully people into not illegaly sharing files. As my dad once said if they ever outlawed firearms in the united states (only outlaws would have them). That said those who are the true criminals are the ones trying to not get caught and knowing how technology works they probably won't. Meanwhile the grandma who lets her kids use her computer gets charged 10,000 dollars per song downloaded. Where is the justice in that?
