I know I've "tooted" my horn a couple of times here, but with the ongoing dialog and "brainstorming," I think it is important for each of us that care about this subject to be vocal.

I love what Kurt said and have learned already that there are those that need and just want pats or share their work--and that is fine. I think songwriters in their intro should specify a bit what they are looking for as well--which helps. There could be check boxes that ask those questions as to what feedback a songwriter is looking for in aa abreviated menu.

Mike, what you say is so accurate and makes a lot of sense in theory and from an organizational approach. One thing that I've come to believe is that "social networkers" are not customers however, and I'm a little concerned that if you try and please everyone, that you may risk the "whole" being degraded. Sometimes "simple" is better--having said that, I'm not saying that changes won't improve or enhance our current system.

Brian's basic question is about whether separate forums are needed, I realize; and thus far from what I've heard, I'm leaning to maybe having (3)catagories, but as with many things, the "proof will be in the pudding."
