I could use that mastodon rib to compare it with the mammoth ribs we have here in Utah to see which of the two is superior in strength and appearance. I would not, however, draw any conclusions or form any stereotypes regarding which beast I would have preferred chasing over a cliff for Sunday dinner based on such a limited research study, and I really wouldn't want to offend either the mastodons or the mammoths by inferring that all of each of the species ribs are the same.
