I don't think eminem is a genius.

I also don't think it's all that warranted to mock one of his fans out of hand for thinking he is.

He certainly has changed the face of hip/hop for better or worse. He brough social commentary back to it, and is faster and wittier than most of his contemporaries. He's not my cup of tea, but eminem is certainly one of the 5 most influential rappers of all time, period. So someone who like hiphop might not be completely out of bounds to consider him rap genius.

However -- I will disagree with songbird on one point... I wish Hank were still alive. And his style of music is *not nearly* dead. It is, in fact, experiencing a revival.

His son isn't half as interesting as he was.

But Hank III is a different story entirely.
