Well, let me throw some stuff in here. I don't know what the average age of all the "threaders" here are. I'm guessing older than my 27, but my point is, a whole lot of people my age and younger listen to Rap/Hip-Hop/Alt-Rock and Country. Maybe because it's all merging in sound, who knows. I have, in my CD collection stuff ranging from Jay-Z, 50 cent, George Jones, Jimmy Hendrix, Concrete Blonde, etc... I listen to them all, depending on what mood I'm in. I would also like to point out, from my perspective, the majority of the people I see switching genres are young African American women, who previously listened to Rap, etc...but now are listening to country (Pop Country) having never listened to Country before. Whatever is Whatever. There could be a million reasons why, but I'm guessing it's based on the way women are depicted in Rap/Hip-Hop Culture and over saturation(sic?). And concerning anyone changing their preference from one genre to another, if white people are migrating towards white artist, or black people are migrating towards black artists, based soley on skin color or the need to "flock together" then, sure it's only racially motivated. Not based on listening pleasure. How could it be anything but?
Justin.
