Whee...Some Thread a-goin' on here!

Best I can Recollect, BOB DYLAN invented "Rap" just around the time he sorty invented "Country-Rock" too...Remember that Song that went "..Lookout Kid..it's Somethin' ya did.."? Yep. Bob Dylan, Incredibly, Rap's got a White Daddy!

However...White Folks CAN'T even REALLY Claim "Country" either...Ol' (Rather ASIAN) "Hawaiian Guitar" Sounds foreran the Pedal Steel "Twang" that made "Country" so Distinctive from all the "Other Genres," ages back.

I think YOUNGER White Kids (in-General) have always preferred Music That Pissed Off "Conservative" Parents, so Rap makes for a Perfect "Wedge" in the Generation Gap. Just like Elvis came along to "Whitey-fy" Rock, now we got EMIEM...(& Older Whites, like Myself, get a more Pallatable Message out of him than the Let's Face It, Often-More-Potty-Mouthed Currently Black Masters of This Genre.)

But I, Older White Guy that I am, Can & DO listen (Occasionally) to Rap. & Everything Else. There's NO (Primary U.S.) Genre that hasn't had Black AND White "Roots" as it developed...then Evolved into.."Something ELSE." It's ALL interesting to listen to, even if you're a Pissed-Off Parent.

Wanna "BLAME" somebody for "Racializing" Popular Music, Blame BILLBOARD: Back in late '70's-early '80's, they had the "BLACK CHARTS"...(later to be Renamed "R&B CHARTS".) Guess we finally had enough White Guys with Sufficient "Soul" to Break-Through, eh? ;-)>

Stay Tuned!
