If we had something like a "knowledge base" resource area, then we could simply give people a quick intro plus a link where they could learn more.

Of course a lot of this info can be Googled up and found on sites like Wikipedia.com, but it would be nice if we could eventually have our own "in-house" knowledge resource to cover the most common facts & info relating to the music industry.

Food for thought, but probably the services/tools listing and "Good Houskeeping Seal Of Approval" could cover many of these kinds of basic questions.
