I've started to look into TAXI and found this thread. Very helpful. JPF is such a great resource.

Based on what I've read TAXI is about getting your music in front of industry folks who are looking for material. Basically it's about turning you from an unsolicted submission to a solicited submission - assuming your material is the right match and of highest quality. It's also about providng objective critiques to help you improve. Sounds good for folks with the money to invest and quality material, but no industry connections.

My question: Has TAXI helped anyone build connections, even if it didn't lead to a deal? I'm imagining perhaps you submit something good enough to get forwarded, it doesn't make the cut, but maybe it's good enough to develop a connection with the requester - an inside connection who might want to hear more of your work, or give you some advice on how to improve things for the next round.

I've read the success stories but I'm just calculating the odds of submitting that perfect song that gets a deal just via TAXI submission. Seems almost more valuable to gain industry connections.
