So how do THOSE publishers acquire material, I wonder?
Ethan, do you have any other insight into how an unknown songwriter might get a submission seen by one of those publishers? You get a referral to them from someone they trust. If you belong to a PRO like BMI/ASCAP/etc, you want to meet with a representative there and discuss your career. Ask them for a referral - if they think you're ready, they'll give one.
