I'm surprised more people don't know that Taxi also has a forum. I won't link it out of respect, cause I've never posted with JPF. I've been a Taxi member for 2 years. Absolutely the best stepping out of my comfort zone ever. I've had about 50 forwards so far. One decent sized placement on an ABC FAMILY show, but I expect a ton more. Not because I'm a dreamer but because I've researched forward rates enough to know the odds, and I'm doing just fine. Hummingbird has become a pretty good friend of mine, too.

I joined Taxi because I've got a couple decades worth of tunes, and I really had to figure where I fit in. I joined their forum to meet people, & find more co-writers and it's been awesome. I went to my first Rally last year, and it was mind-blowing.

If you're serious about placing songs, or getting them cut, join their forum for awhile and see if people think your tunes'll make the cut. You don't havta spend the dough just to figure out if your songs have a chance, the forum members will be pretty clear about evaluating your tunes, per Taxi's standards. There's always a leap of faith, but you CAN minimize your RI$K.

Google Taxi forum, it'll show up. It's a nice place, most of the time. Every once in a while there are entertaining flare ups. I'm Ok with those. It's art, & people are passionate. The only thing I would caution about Taxi or their forum, is leaving your cynicism at the door.

I hope we see some of you around,

Steve
