If a guy turns up for a job interview unwashed, unshaven, and wearing scruffy clothes would you give him the job?
So what makes anybody think that a rough home demo will get you the gig when you are competing against pros who spend thousands on demos?

Not only do you need a top drawer demo but more important you need to know what song to demo and who exactly to pitch it to.
It goes without saying that a rough demo comes from someone who does not know the business and probably cannot write decent songs. You will only if you are very lucky get one shot.....make the most of it.
