Well, craft should be an automatic. if you are trying to go to nashville and write with a pro writer, and not have your craft down, you are wasting everybody's time. I'd like the forum to be more about craft, but it's about many things mixed in.

I will also respectfully disagree in that, just because somebody is writing in Nashville, it doesnt mean they are better, or know more about craft, they are just "in"

Some of the songs that are hits today, aside from the paycheck, you wouldn't want your name associated with them.

Just as we see in American idol, there are plenty of great singers who are better than what is being sold in millions, out there. it be Funny for Miley Cyrus to give singing lessons to some of these winners.

It's not all about talent, and usually not at all. At least not in the present day. id rather be lucky than good, if making money is the goal.

I again think it;s more about the business end.

Im sure there is some guy who writes as a hobby, who can kick alot of those guys butts, but nobody will ever know it
