If Nashville has all the best writers in the world, why are we not hearing it on radio any more? Is it because the industry is now going with singer/songwriters. They can come from anywhere but end up in Nashville because that is where the big labels are. Seeing the majors have a strangle hold on what gets played on radio and get to own a share of publishing/writer royalties, they are doing alright money wise, so they are not too concerned how good the music/songs are, as long as their competitors are not putting out any better material than they are.
