Hi Folks:
Lots of interesting thoughts to consider in this ongoing thread. Co-writing is fine if all of the "dots are connected." I still don't agree it is the only way to succeed... but hey, what do I know? Bugsey sure hit the nail squarely on the head with the "networking" statement. I believe it is nearly as important as talent... and judging by some of the stuff we hear on many tightly controlled radio stations... it may be more important if you want to gather coins beneath the music money tree.
One thing is certain... we would not be having this conversation if any of us had struck musical gold. Instead, we would be worrying about our next single or album... or the logistics of our next road trip... LOL!
Whatever works best for you is what you should do.
As Ray says, "Write a Hit!" (If only I could!)
Best of luck to everybody,
Dave

"If you are stuck in your musical composing, be unreasonable. Change your environment. If you are stuck in your lyrical efforts, instead of forcing the same old words out, force yourself to do unreasonable things." -Brian Austin Whitney
