There's a lot of possible answers to that, Everett. But lots of people write great songs that don't neccessarily end up on mainstream radio. Being on the Radio isn't a quality rating, it's a business. And it's a business getting there in many ways.

Don't confuse the elitist notion of quality with popularity. Those are different things, and you will have to choose. You will get your wallet crushed if you try to talk Hallmark to the Wallmart folks. Quality is mostly something rich people can afford, and they are less than 1%, remember :-)
