There are many components to the streaming conflict.

The biggest is the millions of streaming customers who comprise the 83 percent. They arent returning to vinyl. Their concerns are themselves and their access to their music for the lowest investment.

Beyond that they are infatuated with the "stars." The songwriters dont even exist in their galaxy unless they are stars singing their own songs.

The next issue is the streamers themselves and their hold on the product and delivery. Their market share makes them appear very strong.

The next issue is the division of profits. I've no idea how much is there and what the big stars get...but we know that the streamers possess whatever monies there are, so they will have to agree to a different distribution. Which means that they and the stars will have to change their take. Not likely.

Lastly, is the influence of the songwriters and their advocates. They can write articles and hold symposiums...but can they actually modify the forces in control. What leverage do they have. Witholding their work product is futile. Too many of them will break ranks or not join their ranks at all if they have something that is working.

The question...Are the songwriters howling at the moon in the hopes of changing its orbit? Or can they actually change its orbit.
