Sue, if you're going to blame natural disasters & very severe, widespread, Chinese drought on atheism, you've totally lost the plot. Mao didn't chop up and murder all of those people. I am sure he killed some of them as any dictator does. Most of them died from hunger due to unforseen circumstances, bureaucratic and policies failure such as communism. When there is no food there is no food. At that point they had to diversify their country and move towards as being an agricultural one. It was do or die and millions died. The number however is disputed but yeah tens of millions died. But to blame all of that on the fact that Mao didn't believe in a God is absurd. China is who they are now because of Mao. That can also be disputed.
And I am not saying Mao was a good guy. His policies clearly failed his people at that time but atheism and communism are not the same thing.
Atheism doesn't cause people to die. Communist policies do.
Atheism isn't a religion.
I am an atheist. I don't belong to any group. Nobody are "my guys".
I don't believe in God and that's all.
Anyway, I am bowing out of this thread. It serves no purpose anymore.
