No, I like all the information I can get.
I guess it could not just be a matter of slapping down a 3 song demo and expect to get automatically placed. I would like to do something without going the publishing route because I just want to do my own small thing. And honestly, I don't have it in me to conduct my creative synapses around having to do a certain recording to someone's snap.Yet I see advantages of going the route of BMI or TAXI. I thought of publishing myself, but that costs hundreds upon thousands of dollars.
I don't question the validity in TAXI. Except that many are small timers just kicking something out of their home with their day jobs. And even after all the labor and time is spent trying to find a publisher, even with the most amiable musician, as you pointed to, they will not have all the time to go through all that and may not even like it when they hear it, or the musicians personality.
The musician to publisher ratio is clearly outmatched. Must be about 10,000 to 1.
Anyways, appreciate the insights.
