V1: Red bougainvillea grows Out by the garden wall Goes well with weeds and rust Sun fades the photographs And bakes the dusty road Where we once played our games
CH: I didn't wait around To see how you turned out But you're all I want now
V2: We sang Amazing Grace Just like a gospel choir I dressed up as a bride We had a hiding place Up in the old elm tree We planned our great escape
I didn't wait around To see how you turned out But you're all I want now
BR: And my heart never left here, just went for the ride And I didn't really think I'd miss you Look how long it took me just to realize That I really need to be back here with you
V3: House needs a lick of paint And a bit of window glass And fresh new curtains too You know I'm not a saint And I don't have an alibi For all those years away
I didn't wait around To see how you turned out But you're all I want now You're all I want now

Remember: You can ONLY enter 1 lyric per member. If you co-wrote the song with another member, it only counts against the one posting. All lyrics posted after the first one by the same member will be deleted! Please see the rules (they're pretty simple) on this message board.
This is the post where you will add your own lyric entry. Once this hits a large number, I will add a second. You can only post replies on this message board (as opposed to creating your own NEW post.) This is so we can keep all the entries together.
Do NOT post questions or critiques to others songs on this post. We will delete them because this is meant for entries ONLY. We will have an additional post for questions on this forum.
Remember, place full title, full names of writers/co-writers, date of copyright (it doesn't have to be 2002) so we can contact you. DON'T post personal contact info here. We will email those who get nominated for more info. Repeat: DON'T post your personal contact (i.e. phone number, addresses etc...).
I will edit and assign a number to each entry as it progresses. (i.e. I will give you a number like 1, 2, 400, 2,312 etc..). These numbers will be used for judging and voting. DON'T add your own number!
If you want to email a question, send it to me directly at jpfolkspro@aol.com. Place "Lyric Entry Question" in the subject header. Or, post your question on the appropriate posting here.
Thanks and let the posting begin!
PS: To add your lyric, hit the "Post Reply" button on the top right of this page.
