Well if we do have a depression, I hope we don't get out of it like we got out of the last one because the next great war is likely to be the "last one"
If going to war was a solution for our economic woes, we should have the most prosperous economy in history. Actually, it worked after the "Great Depression" because we had a manufacturing-based economy. The war effort needed our plants to run at full capacity to supply the military. In today's service-based economy, war is just a further drain, as we have already seen.
