<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by Graham: yep. That is how I said it, and I said it wrong Trueman. To sign over publishing rights and have it go nowhere until you do the footwork and then have to fork out the publishing to the one who was supposed to find a home for it and didn't, would pee me off. Two years is more than long enough to be in that condition. Too long by half in my view actually. Thanks Trueman. Graham
Graham,
Albums are planned three years in advance and it can take two years to say yes or no to a song, so a reversion clause would be for three to four years. Now in that time if nothing is done with the song you get it back, you would then need to update the Demo, because musical production changes evey four to five years. That is the reason some of us get cuts, we watch and listen to the market, and demo accordingly. No one will listen to a demo with a crap voice, or poor production, any more.
Best Wishes, Ben
