Mike: Excellent review, I appreciate the time you spent here. Even if you didn't take a lot of "time", it still took many years to get that knowledge you have and it is generous of you to pass it along.
I won't respond fully just yet, because I am recording right now for the RPM, but I thought I would quickly comment on a couple of things.
1.) It dawned on me the other day that I really don't incorporate "lifts" in my tunes -- it is something I have to force myself to try. Even if my first few attempts sound like a "formula", I can only get better by doing.
2.) "Feeling" -- "Slaps myself upside the head" Yup, I'm telling you how I feel, not showing.
3.) I knew the music was very G,C,D all the way through. I am a somewhat unimaginative composer/melody writer (limited singing range). Which is why I use a lot of other people's backing tracks -- sometimes gets me to try a new thing. BUT -- I have a keyboard sitting here right next to me. After this CD is over, I am really going to work at charting my melodies out, so I can break out of the same ol' same ol'.
Thanks a lot!!!!!!
Kevin
